OCR: Dimensions In The Dark by J. L. Black Page 63 us to Oxford Street, another highly reputable area of shops. Small payment for his practical jokes and teasing. We spent each of our evenings at the theater, waiting for Audrey to finish. One evening Rod and I did make it over to St. James Street to Boodle's, an eighteenth century gambling club. It was here I met Thomas Prescott, a friend of Rod's. He was charming, to say the least. He is rugged ly good looking and a gentleman of some means. I did enjoy his company and wished, briefly, I could stay in London for a few more days. However, Mr. Prescott mentioned to Rod , as we were leaving the club, he would be away on that holiday Rod had suggested, for a fortnight. Rod told me on the way back to the theater, where we were to meet Audrey, that Prescott was a nobleman. He worked in banking, a major business in London. (If you are not the flavor of the month with the banks, in London, then you are not going to succeed in the business world). He had a lot of power in the city and more importantly, Rod nudged my side, he is single. I laughed and asked Rod if Aud knew he had been attempting to match make. "Are you kidding," he said, "she was the one to come up with the idea in the first place." I choose not to verify this with Audrey. Though I did not believe Rod.
